Esca, derived from the Latin word for lure or bait, are the
small luminescent organs at the tip of the dorsal ray of female
anglerfish. This luminous anatomy acts as a lure to attract prey.
The Esca Lamp expresses this underwater glow either through cast glass or skimming across cast mineral, much like an ocean floor. The shade and base halves are available in either material (or both in the same), creating a broad palate for curation and light play.
Cast Glass shades can be specified in one of two finish qualities: Etched, for a more diffused, translucent effect, or Non-etched, for a more transparent, textured effect. Available in all collection cast glass colors.
The shade and base elements and supported by a solid, precision milled aluminum frame structure. The frame is available in three finishes: Lucent, Pale Basalt and Terra. Please reference our Materials section for more information and specify your choice with your inquiry.
